(More customer reviews)I recently acquired a 6 month old barn kitty who has a bit of a scratching problem. I tried the trio surface pads from Hertz, but she didn't seem to be very interested. I picked this up to see if she would be more interested. At $10 I thought it'd be a cheap investment. The minute I opened it up, she was on top of it going crazy. Once I added the catnip she wouldn't get off it. I'm afraid she's going to start sleeping on it instead of curled up next to me!
I got the larger size and it seems to work well. It's a nice size, you can easily put it into a corner and forget about it. The catnip falls into the honeycombed cardboard so it will keep attracting you cat back. I'm thinking about picking up a few more to either spread out through my apartment or tape together to make a much larger surface for her to play. Well worth the money.

(More customer reviews)I originally got this for my 2 cats for basic function as a cat scratcher. The moment I introduced it to them they had a blast with it. Climbing on it, hiding behind it, trying desperately to get that toy out if it. They stick their paws in it and then their heads, when that doesn't work they try on the other side, then go back again. They chase each other around it and fight over it. It lasted nearly a year until when they were playing tag, one cat was perched on top of it in wait, the other came pounding toward her, took a flying leap on top of it and completely crushed it, scaring both cats enough to jump 10 feet. I laughed for hours. This item is not only functional but I found it provides hours of entertainment for cat and human alike.

These things seem to be hard to find in stores, which is why I got mine here. The advantage of these things is that they really do clean your shoes (because they're rough and absorbent) and they're natural. The problem is that they shed the coco fibers, seemingly forever.

(More customer reviews)This product has been a disappointment to me. Having it for less than a month, I spend a lot to time having to sweep the excess fiber from the ground. Each time one wipes their feet before entering there is loose coir fiber on the ground and the entryway floor. This mat is attractive to look at, but too much work to keep the entry area clean.

It was shipped in an outrageously big box...not rolled up...I couldn't imagine what I had ordered! But its stiff and firm and looks like it will hold up.

My only slight complaint is that the rug does have a couple of ripples so that it doesn't entirely lie flat..but as my husband would say.."no one would notice that but you!"

(More customer reviews)This is a nice looking doormat, and the fibers are very strong and should hold up quite well to the upcoming "mud season" we experience after all our snow melts. If I experience any problems, I'll update this review.
The only thing I wish this doormat had was some more weight to it. I'm using this by my front door, which is on a second floor deck. I'm afraid it may blow off with our winds.
UPDATE, June 18, 2009: It's only been two months, and the rubber on the edges are breaking apart and falling off. Also, the coco fibers have been compacted significantly, although they are still usable for scraping off dirt.

(More customer reviews)Although my entry door is a standard 36 inches, the half round at 30 inches is just fine and looks classy! Great little mat to wipe off the nasties and the rock salt from the northeast snow and ice. Also looks great inside as an alternative to a boot tray, as the coco tufts let those chunky soles drain and dry quicker than the flat vinyl tray. Can't beat the price of $12.95 delivered to your door - looks as good as the $60-$70 mats in the specialty catalogues!
