No Mildew Shower Curtain Liner - Clear Review

No Mildew Shower Curtain Liner - Clear

The curtain I purchased was slightly less thick than the previous mildew resistant curtain that I had purchased. I did not, however , find that to be a problem in over-all quality. The curtain did have an additional interesting feature. There were four sets of suctuion holes at the top and bottom of each end of the curtain, which could be attached to keep the shower water inside the tub. Great for shower dancers that spray throughout the bathroom.
the most significant feature was it's outstanding price. A full $20 less than my original purchase of a similar brand. I highly recommend this product.[[ASIN:B0007RVJEM White Super Weight Premium Vinyl Shower Curtain Liner with Lifetime Mildew Treatment.

Hydrofarm CK64060 Hot House with Heat Mat Review

I got this from Amazon because they were hard to find locally. Dont you know it Lowes and Home Depot have started carrying them now for the same price. This does not have the grow media with it so I had to go to Lowes to get some starter soil for it where I saw Lowes had started carrying them and they had the media included.Yeah I was pissed. This one has a taller dome which was a major attraction for me but the moisture condenses on the dome runs down the sides and pours out of the planter as the dome lip sits on the outside of the tray. So if you have this in the house its gonna make a mess unless you put the tray in a bigger tray to catch the water. So buy it locally that way if you dont like it its easy to return.

DeMarle 2406 Silpat 11-3/4-by-8-1/4-Inch Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat Review

This thing is amazing. I can't believe it wasn't developed sooner. Cookies slide right off, frozen food doesn't stick, even cheese nachos can be made on this and slid right onto the serving plate. Yes, you read that correctly. I make nachos right on this and scoot them onto a plate when they come out of the oven.

A few hints:
1) DON'T OIL IT. If you add oil then it will become sticky. Sounds odd, but I had a friend over and she oiled it and it now is sticky. The sticky stuff finally came off with some major scrubbing, but don't oil it.
2) I found that when using new silicone baking mats I like to "break them in" because they tend to outgas on first use. I bake them with nothing on them for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. I have never had problems with this, but you do it at your own risk.
3) Don't be scared to put the mat directly onto your oven racks. I find that I get the best results this way. You can use it on a pan if you feel more comfortable that way.
4) Be aware of the maximum temperature for your mat.
5) Buy at least two so you can make batches of cookies with it.
6) Don't forget that if you are cooking at 350 degrees, the mat will be 350 degrees, so DON'T grab it with your hands. I can sometimes pull aluminum foil liners directly out of the oven (my friends say I have "asbestos" hands) because of their low heat capacity, but I can't do it with these.

My favorite use: Low fat chicken tenders (my own personal recipe).
Cut chicken breasts into strips about 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch by however long you want them.
Soak them (refrigerated) in low or nonfat milk for 1/2 hour with 1 clove of garlic, quartered for every two breasts. Make sure the milk covers the pieces.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Dredge the chicken pieces, leaving the garlic behind, in a mixture of bread crumbs, salt and pepper. If you want, use flavored bread crumbs. I also use a little chipotle powder or chile powder when I want them spicy.
Bake chicken on ungreased baking mat until done, usually about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes before they are done, flip them over, to dry the bottom side.
Do not move the chicken on the mat until just before they are done.
My wife loves these. They are not as crispy as fried ones, but they are much healthier.

Step2 Naturally Playful Welcome Home Playhouse Review

Step2 Naturally Playful Welcome Home Playhouse

We purchased this playhouse about four years ago when our third child was old enough to play house outside with her siblings. I didn't find it too difficult to assemble considering the size of the playhouse. (you have to remember that it is BIG) The pieces just snap together and a few screws hold a few key pieces securely in place.
At the time, my kids were 2, 5 & 6. (two girls and a boy) They LOVE this play set and spent many years using their imaginations with it, both inside and out. There was room for three young children to play together so while one was busy "in the kitchen" making a meal, the other could set the table while the third played outside and would talk through one of the windows.
As they got older they continued to play with this, although more time recently was spent climbing ON the playhouse than IN it. (yes, this thing is rugged enough to take three kids climing on the roof) My youngest is 6 now and she leads similar play time with her younger twin cousins, except now she's the "dad". Except for a lost phone, the play set looks as good as the year we brought it home. The only maintenance I've done each year was to take a pressure washer to the exterior to knock off any dirt and grime that might have built up over the winter months and it's as good as new. I'll be passing this on to my nieces soon and I am sure they too will get years of playtime out of this product.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.
