(More customer reviews)I wanted something casual; made out of cotton with some thickness added to it so hot plates wouldn't leave marks on my dinner table; I wanted something of a nice size, where you can place your plate, silverware ,napkin and drinking glass decently (check my image above). I got all that purchasing these placemats. Despite their extremely affordable price they are of a great quality and on top of that are reversible. Got them in black and they look beautiful on my dinner table, plus when not in use they fold over, without making creases, for easy storage.
Got them quickly too. Great buy!

(More customer reviews)These are nice heavy mats. Unlike the other reviews, I decided to wash these before reviewing. They wash well and come clean, however, you absolutely must iron them and when you do, the edges do not lay flat anymore. They actually still look ok, the edges just look a little ruffled which doesn't bother me that much.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the red with gold. They are very red! The gold stitching is even. I haven't washed them yet, so I'm not sure how well they will survive, but I'm hopeful that they will wash well and lie as flat and evenly as they do when they are new. They are the perfect size to hold a plate, silverware and a drinking glass. I purchased them to protect my wood table that I just refinished.
Update: The placemats washed beautifully. The stains came out without damaging or bleaching the fabric and they came out of they dryer as flat and as square as they were when they were new. I'll be buying more!

(More customer reviews)I have yet to have used these mats yet however, I am already pleased with them. They looked as if they were black in the picture but they are more of a brown instead. When the order was shipped to my house one of the mats was composed of only the darker slats while the rest were how the picture describes them. I had mentioned this to the seller and immediatly the problem was resolved and another was shipped to me. I'll give you an update in a bit of how they actually work.

The workmanship and quality is perfect; they lay flat, no curling edges and the fabric grain is straight...unlike some I looked at in the stores. The only thing slightly off was the color. I selected "Straw" and it looks like a tan/beige here but the actual mat is more yellow, in fact they're exactly the color of straw! Which worked out even better for me; they look perfect.
