(More customer reviews)I am very pleased with these placemats. Even though they are vinyl, and therefore easy to wipe clean, they don't look cheap and shiny. They look almost like fabric mats when you see them on the table. They are extremely well made.

(More customer reviews)I was completely satisfied with the placemats especially when I received them well before the time that I was quoted. The workmanship and quality is perfect; they lay flat, no curling edges and the fabric grain is straight...unlike some I looked at in the stores. The only thing slightly off was the color. I selected "Straw" and it looks like a tan/beige here but the actual mat is more yellow, in fact they're exactly the color of straw! Which worked out even better for me; they look perfect.

(More customer reviews)These placemats look great on my kitchen table (a 42" round table) because they are the perfect size and the oval looks great on a round table (no strange overlapping of the corners like with rectangle placements). I have had these for over a year and they have held up great. They wipe clean easily, the only thing that can be annoying is that sometimes food or crumbs get stuck in the grooves; but it isn't that difficult to get it out. I tried putting these on my larger dining room table one time and that didn't look very good because they are a little too small for a large table.

Lenox Laurel Leaf Placemats Review

(More customer reviews)For a year, I have had a set of Lenox laurel leaf table linens in platinum (actually a little paler than in the picture above), and my feelings are mixed about them. They're certainly lovely and elegant, and stains come out easily after pretreatment and washing--even red wine and tomato sauces.
The only problem is that some of the placemats wind up wrinkled after washing, even when following the directions to wash but not tumble-dry them. It's as if the stiff facing inside them gets loose and bunched up or pleated, and no amount of ironing will fix them. Only half of the 12 that I started with are in their original shape, thanks to spot-washing and good luck.
So if you want elegant, not-too-expensive table linens, the Lenox laurel leaf napkins and tablecloths are great. I would just avoid the placemats until they are (hopefully) more reliably constructed.
