Wipe off with damp paper towel and avoid putting hot pans on them and they will last for many years. My Mother-in-law has similar set for 3 years and they still look great. I will never go back to cloth placemats again! Very please with purchase!

(More customer reviews)I wanted something casual; made out of cotton with some thickness added to it so hot plates wouldn't leave marks on my dinner table; I wanted something of a nice size, where you can place your plate, silverware ,napkin and drinking glass decently (check my image above). I got all that purchasing these placemats. Despite their extremely affordable price they are of a great quality and on top of that are reversible. Got them in black and they look beautiful on my dinner table, plus when not in use they fold over, without making creases, for easy storage.
Got them quickly too. Great buy!

Only the cork place mats truly protect wood finishes from hot plates. We learned that the hard way on our last kitchen table. We got permanent discolorations on the finish from hot plates. If you love roosters, this really is a beautiful, yet elegant addition to your kitchen. The hardest part about buying a set of Jason place mats is deciding which set. They are all so beautiful. They are bit more money, but the product quality makes it worth it. I'm sure we will add another set in the near future.

Laser Printed Split Bamboo Placemat 18" x 12" Set / 6 Review

(More customer reviews)I have received this set today and can't take my eyes off it. The placemats look so much better in person. I believe the photo on this page represents a rug. The placemats are made of long bamboo slats that are about 1 cm wide. I cannot attest to the durability of the placemats, just the looks for now. A placemat resembles a miniature rug! The "non-skid" is not really non-skid. It looks like they used gauze to help keep the bamboo pieces together on the back. These placemats were made in China if anyone is interested. It doesn't bother me in any way, but some people are determined not to buy anything made there. The edges of each placemat are fabric. I am not sure how I will clean them if they get dirty. There are no care instructions included with the set. I would be cautions using chemical cleaners. I think that those cleaners can damage and remove the clear glossy stain off the bamboo. The picture pattern could be damaged as well. I would just use a wet paper towel and soap.
