(More customer reviews)This is the second Sealy Bed Armor Matress Protector Pad I've purchased. I've owned the other one for 3 years, and it's by far the best Mattress Protector Pad. Just bought a Tempur Pedic Celebrity Bed this past xmas, and I did not hesitate to buy another Sealy Pad for this new bed. Size easily fits deep mattresses, the side skirting does a great job at utilizing it's elasticity to huge the mattress. Soft cotton/terry top is smooth and doesn't create plasticky noise that a lot of other mattress protectors emit. Good price for a quality mattress pad, as most mattress protectors now selling in stores such as mattress firm or mart are going for $80+. Machine washable, waterproof. just perfect.
You will not be disappointed.

After my Aero Bed deflated in the middle of the night the last time my parents came to visit, I tossed it out into the garbage and bought this one. When we moved into our new place and had still not moved all the furniture we spent the night camping out on this bed.
The bed inflates in under three minutes if you get one of the Ozark Trail Electric Air Pumps. I almost prefer the pump not to be attached to the bed, as is the case in the aero beds.
It took a few minutes to figure out the advanced double lock valve, but it makes inflation and deflation fast and simple.
This bed holds up to 600lbs and has a extra thick heavy-duty PVC with rayon flocked top. 56 coils provide more strength and firmness. I'd say it was almost more comfortable than my old Aero bed.
Perfect for camping, guests, an extra bed you can put out in the living room to watch movies on, etc, etc. This bed also can be stored in a very small space.
Fairly comfortable and perfect for short term use. Works with your flat or fitted sheets and is guaranteed not to leak or you can return it for a replacement.

J-Life Japanese Traditional Shiki Futon - TWIN SIZE (shikibuton) Review

(More customer reviews)I've been sleeping every night on this futon for more than a year now, and am very happy with it. The first thing I noticed when I got it was its weight. It weighs about 27 pounds, and is a little unwieldy to transport. I also noticed a smell that I assume is the boric acid which is used as a fire retardant. The smell has diminished with time so that it isn't really noticeable any more.
The construction of the mattress is very solid. It has a very tough outer cover over a 4 inch layer of thick cotton batting. There is also a zipper to allow access to the batting, or perhaps to allow the cover to be washed (although I don't think that would be advisable).
Because of the firmness of this mattress, I found that it took a little time to adjust to it after sleeping on a regular mattress. Also, my body doesn't sink into the mattress as much, which makes it a little harder to sleep on my side. I've found that it helps to use a Japanese style pillow (such as this one: Organic Buckwheat Pillow - Japanese Size (14" x 20")) to give my neck better support.
With use, the cotton tends to compress. I've noticed a definite depression where the heaviest part of my body rests. To remedy this, every so often it helps to lift up the mattress and drop it from several feet onto the ground, or else to hang it up and beat it with a stick or bat (the manufacturer's care instructions actually recommend this!).
Pros:
+ Firm, but not overly so.
+ Comfortable enough to sleep on every night.
+ Solid, durable construction.
+ Folds up easily for storage.
+ Can be transported much easier than a normal mattress.
Cons:
- Compresses with use (although this can be remedied with proper care).
- Short length makes it non-ideal for tall people (over 6').
- A bit pricey (but worth it).
I would definitely buy this again given the choice. Combined with a Japanese style pillow, it is the ultimate minimalist bed.

(More customer reviews)After I'd ordered this mattress, it hit me: I live alone, and my bedroom is up a flight of stairs. How the heck am I gonna....?
The box is heavy--over 70 pounds. But the mattress is folded in half, rolled, and compressed, so the box isn't that unmanageable to haul up. Then you pry the mattress out of the box and let it flop open and un-compress. The instructions say to leave it open for 48 hours. This seems...unrealistic to me. I did it in the morning, and let it do its thing all day and slept on it that night. I'll admit, there was a sort of chemical foam smell when you first open it, and a few hours later, but it's gone entirely by the second night.
Sleep quality is nice. Mine is quite firm and supportive. Compared to the standard mattress (which it's replacing) it's a bit taller (so if you have mobility issues, you might have to adjust getting into and out of bed). I can see what they mean about limited motion transfer--before, when my beast of a cat would jump on the bed, oftentimes it would wake me up. Now, I don't even feel him! Nice!
I know one reviewer complained about this mattress being sweltering? I am not trying to refute that, but that has not been my experience. I'm...of a certain age, where waking up with sweating is not that uncommon, and that has yet to happen to me. Which means it may yet happen as a hormonal thing, but I don't think I can quite blame the mattress for it. (Sorry about the T.M.I., there!)
If you have two people to move this mattress, the troubles I've had will be a snap for you and you'll be plenty comfy. I have a bad back and I'm already noticing a lot of improvement in my usual morning stiffness. Give it a try: I really love mine!

We took a trip for Thanksgiving and our 19 mo. old isn't ready to sleep in a real bed, so we took his pack and play. When we've gone to visit grandparents before he wouldn't sleep in it- kept waking up during the night. He was too used to sleeping on his mattress in his crib and the pack and play mat was too hard for him to get comfortable. This mattress was a live saver! He was able to get comfortable and slept through the night while we were on vacation. Took his naps in there too. Make sure you get the mattress sheet cover for it as just the plastic will not feel good. It needs a fitted sheet over it.

It took up the entire back seat. It is heavy and bulky. Not the ideal item you would want to take camping. Unless you have a big truck or trailer, and great storage at home. It is also not that comfortable as well. It is like an extra firm mattress.
