What a steal - it is extremely well made (beautiful shape, sturdy yet soft) and matched my modern decor perfectly. The reversible pillow is a nice touch too. The only thing I didn't do was measure it out in relation to my German Shepherd and it's just too small for him. I saw that nice high bumper and pictured my 90 pound Standard Poodle and my 85 pound Dane/Lab mix snuggling up inside them. the bumper flattens out in the first 2 days of use, but the 'babies' don't seem to care. Easy to keep fresh, just throw them in the wash (one at a time) and the dryer. The fleece doesn't give up all the dog hair (like a fool, I bought the white) but they get sanitary and fresh smelling. Wish those bumpers stayed up.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these beds before at a store for half the price. I bought it for my ferret. Ferret beds tip over and I have bought so many. My ferret loves this one. It fits in his cage niceley and he can't flip it over like he does all the ferret beds. Most of the beds I've looked at and bought in this type were too big for the ferret cage. I was really happy when I found this site. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because after a few washes the foam gets out of place and the material tears. I had to keep sewing the pillow inside. So best to clean it with a carpet cleaner hand brush. If you don't have one, most of the car washes do.

K&H Cool Bed III Cooling Dog Bed Review

(More customer reviews)I have an 8 month old Lab pup who is usually too warm during the day. He slept on the bathroom tile before we got this bed a week ago. He was gradually using the Cool Bed more and more.
Then, he thought it would be amusing to pull the stopper out. He put his head under the corner of the bed, found the tab, removed the stopper, and let loose about a gallon of water. Fortunately, I was home at the time and heard the sound.
I called the manufacturer and they are sending a new stopper for free. Apparently this doesn't happen often. After putting everything back in place, we will probably put Bitter Apple or Bitter Yuck on the stopper.
One other note on this bed. The instructions say "Now pull open the air adjustment valve and gently work as much air out as you can, using sweeping motions across the Cool Bed III with your hands. Sweep the air towards the valve allowing the air to expel from the bed." That is tedious on the large bed. Instead, I used a metal broom handle laid flat to get the air out. You don't need to apply much pressure, and you catch all of the air in a couple of sweeps. It's far faster than using your hands.
