(More customer reviews)I recently purchased a pack of "CATSCAT", the prickly teeth mat. The color is chocolate brown so they blend nicely into the landscape. The teeth (1" high) are not as sharp as a plastic fork but very pointed. I cut the mats in half with scissors and secured them with metal staples along the top of the wooden fence railing that cats and squirrels like to use as a runway.
So far, squirrels and cats will run across them once. After the first attempt, they will detour around them. The mats are an expensive option but especially effective in limited areas like indoor or outdoor pots or window boxes. The mats can be left there permanently year round or moved from place to place.
Made in England with recycled plastic. Each mat is 8 1/2" X 7". They have built-in ground anchors that can be bent down to secure them in the ground. The manufacturer recommends avoiding areas where very young children play and where cats may jump down on them from a height.
