(More customer reviews)The padding on this isn't much and you can feel the metal mesh through the top. The metal mesh seems better than the wooden ones, as from what I read, the wooden ones break easily. Not a bad ironing board for people like me with limited space. I gave four stars as I mentioned the poor padding and you can feel the mesh and the fact it's $9.99 at home depot and I saw it there the day after it shipped from Amazon, so save yourself a few bucks if you can.

This item is compact without the space consuming problems associated with ironing boards. All that's needed for setup is a surface approx 2'x 3' upon which to place it. Storage is easy using the built-in hanger to hang in a closet or it can be stood on end taking up little space. It has no legs to open, close and trip over. It is just a compact unit that you flip over if you need different surfaces.
Numerous measurements are printed on the cover to aid the sewer. One side is rectangular to facilitate large pieces of fabric. The other side has smaller shapes for pressing sleeves and pants. There is also a metal holder that pulls out to hold the iron so no board space is lost to a sitting iron.

(More customer reviews)I bought this ironing board knowing that I do not iron many things. It is small, compact, and would be great for a small apartment as it stores easily. Doing large items would be harder, but it is fine for a shirt or touching up slacks. It has a padded top, and a cover is not necessary for use. It seems sturdy on a table top, but is lightweight. If you iron most of your things, or large tablecloths and such, consider a larger and more sturdy board. It is exactly what I expected, the price was great and I am pleased with it.
