A lot more money than the residential version, but if you constantly have icy, slippery steps in the winter, this is the solution. Stays put, keeps the steps clear and provides good traction. Our mail carrier is very pleased!

The HeatTrak 11-inch by 36-inch stair mat is designed to endure harsh wear in winter seasons as it prevents snow and ice accumulation on your stairs. The mat is built with non-slip, UV protected rubber making it ideal for outdoor use. It is made of an electrically operated heating element sandwiched between two protective surfaces of non-slip rubber, making it as durable as automobile tires and wear resistant. When turned on, the mat will heat up to melt snow at a rate of 2-inch per hour. The mat can be secured to the ground using its built-in grommet holes (in every corner and approximately every three feet of length) and is designed to be left outside for the entire winter season.
The heated stair Mat is sold as a single unit but will connect to additional stair mats to create an entire heated system for your steps. Every group of heated stair mats requires a GFCI controller (sold separately) to connect the system to a 120-volt electrical outlet. It plugs into any standard outlet using a GFCI protected, 6-foot power cord.Each stair mat is designed with watertight 18-inch connector cables enabling it to connect to additional stair mats.You can connect up to 10 stair mats on a single outlet. Mats maintain an average temperature of 40-degrees above the ambient temperature. Turn the mat on before the snow begins to fall. This mat comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
