(More customer reviews)I've only had this heating mat for a month or so. I've been pleased with it so far. It was easy to stick to the bottom of the tank and heated up quickly. At first, I was concerned that it would get too hot- considering the size. However, it has turned out to work just fine. I would certainly recommend this product and vendor. It was delivered very fast.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these early in the year & it has been a blessing in my old, drafty, under-insulated house. I don't need to crank up the expensive gas heating, but I stay nice & warm in my family room now. I am saving up to buy 2 more in smaller sizes for other rooms. The increase in my electric bill has been slight, but the decrease in my gas bill has been noticeable!
Plus my older cat loves it too! She just lays right down & goes to sleep!

(More customer reviews)Easy to set up & use, and it keeps feet nice & warm. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because (a) it's made of hard plastic that's a bit uncomfortable after a while on bare or stocking feet, and (b) it's a bit overpriced. It's just a piece of injection-molded plastic with a small heating element... should be more like $40. It has 3 heat settings: off, foot-warmer, and radiant-panel. Haven't tried the panel setting, but the foot-warmer setting is nice. Would be better if there were more of a range of settings (foot-warm-low, foot-warm-high), and for the price I'd kinda expect this. A good feature is the angled base: when sitting in a chair and stretching your feet out to it, the angle is comfortable on the ankles. I put mine on a plug-in timer: no need to consume 90 watts 24/7, I only run it from 2PM to midnight. In summary, despite the omission of a few minor features and being slightly pricey, I'm glad I got it and I would recommend it to anyone looking to end cold feet under their desk.

Zoo Med ReptiTherm® Under Tank Heater, Medium Review

(More customer reviews)I have been using this heater for a few years and it works amazing, it keeps my snake happy and when coupled with a rheostat maintains a constant 70F. That's right you need a RHEOSTAT. This, like EVERY OTHER heat pad in the price range, does not have a temperature control. A rheostat is only about $20 and is REQUIRED. If you don't understand this you shouldn't have a reptile as you will just cook it.
The one thing that I really don't like is that it can NOT be removed without destroying it. I recently bought a new tank and thus need to buy a new heat pad.
Highly recommended for the longevity factor, but make sure you research even just a smidgen on how to set up a terrarium or you will kill your animal.
**Side note: In order to save all the spiders out there also, do not use this as a bottom mat if you have spiders. This will need to be mounted on the side of the tank for arachnids as they have a common tendency to hide underground if it starts getting to warm, and you will end up cooking it.
