This one is the most compact I have found that actually puts a barrier between a cold and/or damp surface and my dog. The ballistic nylon on the one side is really excellent. The fleece makes it a nice sleeping surface. I rated the item 4 rather than 5 stars because (a) the fleece is sewn to the nylon unevenly and (b) the black color of the fleece. I cannot understand why the fleece is black when black shows every bit of dog hair, lint, or other things that inevitably stick to the surface. I ordered a second one of these in pink and black. I was very distressed to discover that the fleece was black and the nylon pink so it is not just that this model is black and black. All in all I am very happy with this pad.
