(More customer reviews)I was attracted to this product because it offered multiple typed of pond bio-filtration media for a tank or tub style filter. The products consists of little plastic "bio-balls" that have a variety of filtration material inside them. The white media contains ceramic chips, the black contains carbon charcoal, and the blue ones have a sponge material in them.
The bio-balls do a great job of trapping the "good" bacteria, and help form the "healthful sludge" that stick to them, that is actually a good thing for pond health. When it is time to give them an occasional cleaning, a simple rinse under the tap will do it.
These work really well in most pond filers, but they are pricey. Doing it again, I would look at less flashy looking bio material at a lower cost. I would likely get something that looks like the little "koosh" balls, or something that has lots of nooks and crannies on the balls to hold the healthy sludge.
If you don't mind the price, this is a solid product for pond care. Just be prepared to use lots of these units depending on the size of your filter tank or tub.
