(More customer reviews)I purchased this bed for my 23-pound terrier who has a little arthritis in his hips. I gleefully set it up for him and put his old bed in the garage. Three days later, when I saw him at the door with his bags packed and a taxi waiting outside, I knew I had made a big mistake. Let me save you from the same fate.
First, this bed is far too stiff for a small dog -- only slightly more comfortable than sleeping on a styrofoam plank.
Second, I could find nothing about this bed that would support the claim that it's "great for pets with arthritis" -- quite the opposite.
Third, the bed is made of two stiff pieces of foam with egg-crate-shaped surfaces. They are glued back-to-back to create height and thus the illusion of softness. If the previous reviewer's comment about Tempur-Pedic conjurs up visions of pressing one's hand into a mattress, note that NOTHING like Tempur-Pedic happens with this material -- there is NO memory foam material in this bed AT ALL.
Finally, I paid about $53 and since the dog's use of the bed makes it unreturnable, I might just as well have set fifty bucks on fire. My advice: If your pet needs relief, swallow hard and go for something in the $100 range with actual memory foam. That's what I'd do if I could get the money back to start over.
I should mention this -- Amazon's delivery was perfect.
