(More customer reviews)I've tried various non-specialized products - door mats, rugs, etc. None were satisfactory either because they were too small or because the mat didn't trap the litter and it went flying and bouncing onto the floor. I also tried one of those pretty Cats Rule mats but the cat didn't seem to like the texture and avoided it.
This extra large mat - 47'' x 32'' - is the best solution I've found. Very few pieces of litter have gotten past it. I was reluctant to buy it because of the expense ($30 at a local store) but am very glad I did.
